Passion, Spirit and Pain directly influence the melodic tunes of World Music artist Adimu Madyun. Currently residing in Oakland, the Californian native is a prolific musician, actor and filmmaker taking his style of edutainment around the world. In 2003, he signed a music publishing deal with Sony South Africa. He was a feature artist, song writer and videographer for recording artists Sliq Angel, MXO and Skwatta Kamp. Adimu could also be seen on South African TV having reoccurring roles on the soap opera, Back Stage.

Now in the states for the last five years Madyun is making headways with his controversial award winning film Operation Small Axe.

As a solo artist, his latest manifestation as WolfHawkJaguar, we'll see the artist staring in the film Hunter Poetry and recording the soundtrack. The film centers on his musical journey through the African Spiritual Tradition of Orisa. Adimu has been blessed to share the stage with artists such as The Abyssinians, Gyptian, Saul Williams, Pressure, Norris Man, Dead Prez, Slim Kid Tre of Pharcyde, Thandiswa Mazwai and Zion I.  WolfHawkJaguar is a dynamic stage performer with a fresh new sound that is guaranteed to uplift the masses!

ESUU ORUNDIDE

My flesh is California. My roots grow upward from Texas, Louisiana, Barbados,
Ireland and Germany. My spirit vibrates African frequencies. I've been a professin’ painter eighteen years. Shona-style stone sculptor for eleven; a visual artist lifelong.

I prefer candlelight over incandescent or florescent, running into my people on the street, over driving; smoking over drinking. First art instructors: Uncle Butch, Grand Daddy Early, Pops’ photography, Isley Brothers, Mama’s craftwork. Long black Cadillacs and panthers and Afros.

Chuck D. reached into my ears and opened my eyes. El Haj Malik El Shabaz modeled clear conviction. Picasso Mondrian, Gladys Knight, and the whole Harlem Renaissance movement moves me. Basquiat, Curtis Mayfield, NWA, Omiiroo massive: our collective.

I paid academy of art college to instruct
their instructors. Was humbled and blessed with careful guidance at Laney College. Made family by Nicolas Mukomberanwa at home in Africa. Still a nigga to galleries and police at home in America.

My art speaks these experiences intending to be beautiful and attractive. Harsh and cold. Rich and textured. Smooth and refined. Hot like fire, and coexisting within one body of work with many chapters, visual music, soul stirring imagery, raw-ass mindfunk blackstrap molasses, straight to the bloodstream.

I been called on to do this by ancestors forever.

And I will not stop.
